Healing from Mold, One Step at a Time

Healing Chronic Inflammation, One Step at a Time

CIRS

My story of healing and dealing with asthma and allergies and chronic inflammation.

Over the years, I’ve been navigating life with asthma and allergies, something I’ve had to manage most of my life. But during a really tough season, after being exposed to wild fires in Los Angeles and finding mold in my apartment rental, my symptoms went into overdrive. That’s when I learned from a naturopathic doctor that certain mold exposures can cause serious problems for people like me.

Some of the treatments they recommended were actually very helpful. These included:

  • Red light therapy

  • Ozone therapy

  • Glutathione IVs

  • High-dose vitamin C IVs

  • Functional lab testing

  • Infrared sauna therapy

  • A low-amylose diet to support inflammation

  • Peptides like Thymosin Alpha-1 and BPC-157

  • And several supplements specifically tailored to support detox, inflammation, and immune balance

My mom, who’s also a trauma therapist, often reminded me that the brain and body are deeply connected. She’s used brain-based approaches like EMDR for years with her clients, and she would often say that healing isn’t just about the physical — it’s about calming the nervous system, too.

So when I started seeing discussions in online communities, from people dealing with mold exposure, CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), and chronic inflammation, one name kept coming up: the Gupta Program.

What is the Gupta Program?

The Gupta Program is a brain retraining program designed to help calm an overactive fight-or-flight response. It’s used by people navigating chronic health issues like CIRS, mold toxicity, MCAS, chronic fatigue, long COVID, and more. The program includes structured tools that teach your brain how to gently shift away from hypervigilance and back toward healing through guided neuroplasticity exercises, meditation, and breathwork.

After seeing it mentioned repeatedly — and realizing how much it aligned with what my mom had always shared, I decided to try it. That was three years ago. And to this day, it remains one of the most helpful tools I’ve used alongside everything else.
